On March 15-16, 2023, in the city of Shymkent of the Republic of Kazakhstan, negotiations were held between "O'zbekiston Temir Yo'llari" (Uzbekistan Railways) JSC and "NC "Қазақстан темір жолы" (Kazakhstan Railway) JSC to increase the throughput capacity of the "Saryagash" MGSP with the improvement of technological processes at the "Ok Kuprik" stations (Uzbekistan) and "Saryagash" stations (Kazakhstan), the press service of "O'zbekiston Temir Yo'llari" informs.
To achieve and increase the projected volumes, "O'zbekiston Temir Yo'llari" JSC informed about the completion of work in August of this year on the reconstruction of the "Ok Kuprik" station (Uzbekistan) with the extension of existing ones and the construction of additional acceptance routes.
As a result of this project, the throughput through the "Ok Kuprik" border point will be increased from 30 to 45 pairs of trains per day, and, accordingly, the volume of cargo transportation will increase up to 60mn tons per year. In this regard, the Uzbek side turned to JSC "NC "Қазақстан темір жолы" about the need to take measures to increase the throughput capacity of the "Saryagash" station.
To further speed up the passage of trains, the issue of mutual provision by both parties of complete preliminary information on the cargo transported to the MGSP, as well as reducing the time of technical and commercial inspections, was considered.
Following the talks, the Protocol of the bilateral meeting was signed.
