Kazakhstan has announced the establishment of the Association of Secondary Raw Material Processors. The newly elected chairman of the Association, Batyrbek Aubakirov, informed Daryo correspondent that it would unite producers working in Kazakhstan's secondary raw material market.
It is essential that the reuse of waste is not only economically feasible but also allows for reducing the area of landfills, saving natural resources, and improving the environmental situation in the country. At the same time, the expert said this industry and market need an early transformation, state support, and incentives for development in Kazakhstan.
He added that out of 100,000 tons of plastic formed in garbage landfills in Kazakhstan, only about 3,500 is being processed. The remaining 96,000 tons of plastic are buried in the ground in landfills.
And the republic's secondary raw material processing plants cannot work to total production capacity due to a lack of raw materials. At the same time, processing plants set an ambitious task to recycle all of Kazakhstan’s waste, which will significantly reduce the load on landfills and reduce the level of their pollution, Batyrbek Aubakirov noted.
He specified that Kazakhstan's Association of Secondary Raw Material Processors would create conditions for promoting the secondary raw material industry.
