The Kyrgyz Republic intends to create a national brand entitled ‘Made in Kyrgyzstan’ under a decree inked by President Sadyr Japarov on Friday (March 3), the press service of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic informs.
Reportedly, the National Economic Project entitled ‘One Village – One Product’ (OSOP), was designed in Japan.
The project is expected to improve the living standards of the population. Its draft is based on three principles:
- Self-confidence and creativity;
- Development of human resources;
- Think locally, but act globally.
Its main task is to organize the production of unique products. Moreover, each product should represent a particular region of the country.
The locality will specialize in manufacturing its products and will be able to cooperate with similar industries.
The project, with the assistance of Japanese specialists, has been working for many years in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan and helped export products to China, the USA, Kazakhstan, and Japan.
In December last year, the capital Bishkek held a competition where buyers identified the best national and regional brand-producing products from domestic raw materials, including honey, textiles, felt products, cakes, sweets, etc. Besides, a wide variety of Kyrgyz products was presented at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center in Tokyo (Japan). The Japanese nationals were particularly interested in high-quality honey.
As Deputy Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Kyrgyzstan, Ainura Samanova noted, the brand "Made in Kyrgyzstan" acquires a certain popularity.
‘We receive many requests from companies that are interested not only in the supply of goods but also in the creation of joint ventures because the quality of our textile industry remains at a high level’, she added.
