On Wednesday (February 8), Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan-Slovenia business forum that saw senior officials of ministries, industry associations, and over a hundred representatives of businesses of the two counties.
Reportedly, the Uzbek delegation was chaired by Deputy PM Jamshid Khodjaev, while the Slovenian delegation was headed by Deputy PM/ Foreign Minister of Slovenia Tanja Fajon. The two sides emphasized the upward trend of bilateral trade that surged by almost 40% over the past year. This became possible primarily due to Uzbekistan's GSP + status.
The forum participants expressed their commitment to further strengthening economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovenia, establishing strong business contacts, and providing comprehensive support to entrepreneurs in implementing joint projects and initiatives.
