20-29 January. The International Green Week in Berlin has become the epicentre of agricultural products under the "Made in Uzbekistan" brand.
Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture of Germany Jem Özdemir, Commissioner for Agriculture of the European Union Janusz Wojciechowski, Mayor of Berlin Franziska Giffay and other dignitaries started their exhibition visit from Uzbekistan stand. They were welcomed by the delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture, Aziz Voitov.
The guests tasted Uzbekistan's yellow and dried fruits and national dishes. The national products of more than 60 entrepreneurs are being displayed at Uzbekistan stand with an area of 240 square meters; including 227 types of agricultural and food products - raw and processed fruits and vegetables, processed milk and meat products, oil and fat products, soft drinks, confectionery, flour and flour products, margarine products and others.
The guests were treated to national dishes prepared by chefs from Uzbekistan: pilaf, somsa, patir bread and other dishes.
The delegation of Uzbekistan held intensive meetings with the ministers of agriculture of the Netherlands, Canada, Georgia, Poland, Mongolia, Latvia and Kazakhstan. Also, high-level meetings were held with the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Henryk Kowalczyk and the Uzbek side signed a memorandum of cooperation on strengthening relations between research institutes, sharing experience in the fields of seed production, greenhouses, and digitalization.
The first day of the exhibition saw the first fruits of the cooperation when the German company "Girlos Engineering" and Buchers, the processing of fruits and vegetable company, signed an agreement on the construction of a refrigerated warehouse in Uzbekistan to deliver best-dried fruit and vegetable products to German stores.
It is planned to organize business trips of Dutch, Polish, Latvian and Canadian businessmen to Uzbekistan.
