On January 14, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met in Singapore with the Executive Chairman of Meinhardt Group Dr. Shahzad Nasim where they discussed the implementation of joint projects, including infrastructure ones, on the principles of public-private partnership, the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade reports.
As a result of the discussion, the parties reached an agreement on the establishment of a joint Design and Engineering Center which will implement urban planning and industrial initiatives.
The centre is planned to be launched in February-March, and the concept of the master plan for the “Yangi Toshkent” (New Tashkent) project will be developed in April-May. Development of a detailed project plan is expected in July-October which is estimated at $1 billion.
In addition, Meinhardt Group, together with Uzkimyosnoat, plans to launch the production of alkylbenzene for detergents in the Kashkadarya region. The $231 million project’s feasibility study is slated to be completed in May, and the start of work to attract investors - for July-August.
In addition, the company is also considering the implementation of a project for the production of caustic soda in the Khorezm region for $220 million.
