On the eve of the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an Uzbekistan-Singapore business forum aimed at strengthening business relations between entrepreneurs of the two countries ıs beıng held in Singapore.
Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Trade and Industry of Singapore Gan Kim Yong, Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation Lim Ming Yan, and more than 200 business elite representatives visited the first day of the forum.
Kudratov emphasized the importance of the high-level visit, which is expected to open a new page in relations between Uzbekistan and Singapore.
- "We are determined to make full use of all the opportunities of the upcoming event and enrich its agenda with specific agreements," he said.
In recent years, the volume of Singapore's investments in Uzbekistan has exceeded 700 million dollars, and the volume of mutual trade has increased by 2 times.
The Singaporean side confirmed its firm intention to continue strengthening and expanding its partnership with Uzbekistan in a wide range of fields. Chemistry, textiles, pharmaceuticals, agricultural industry, education, healthcare, logistics, as well as the IT sector were identified as priority areas for further development of mutual cooperation.
As part of the event program, B2B negotiations and presentations of specific projects in various sectors of the economy were held on the investment potential of Uzbekistan.
According to the results of the business forum, the sides managed to ink 23 agreements in trade, investments and finance, the chemical, energy and textile industries, the production of food products, as well as construction, and education.
