In Uzbekistan, it is expected that rent or mortgage loan payments will be omitted from the income of families when they are considered low-income. This is provided for in the draft decision of the Cabinet of Ministers announced for public discussion on January 8.
The legislation does not include the expenses related to the place of residence when considering a family in need of housing as low-income.
At the same time, the current procedure for calculating the total income of the family does not allow materially supporting the low-income segment of the population in need of housing and meeting their minimum needs.
The omission of rent or mortgage payments from the family's total income is determined when the family is considered low-income.
The discussion of this draft document will continue until January 23.
