The largest Russian bank, Sberbank, begins to register trademarks in Uzbekistan. The message was posted by the Intellectual Mulk database.
The application itself was submitted on December 26, 2022. There are three bank applications on the portal for the registration of two trademarks (names in Latin and Cyrillic) and a logo.
Sberbank, founded in 1991, is considered the largest credit and financial institution in Russia in terms of assets. Currently, the bank has more than 13.6 thousand branches in the Russian Federation and 106 million active private users. According to the Moscow Exchange, the bank's market capitalization exceeds 3 trillion rubles ($43.3 billion).
When the war in Ukraine started a barrage of sanctions was imposed on Russian banks including Sberbank in June this year. The financial conglomerate was disconnected from the SWIFT financial messaging system. In addition to US sanctions, the bank has restrictions on correspondent accounts and transactions from the UK and Canada.
