On July 20, the members of the Joqarǵı Keńes (Supreme Council of Karakalpakstan, SCK) have sent a collective appeal to Shavkat Mirziyoyev to annul the state of emergency imposed in Karakalpakstan, "New Uzbekistan" reports.
The document requests to soften the strict regulation and pardon innocent people, especially youngsters, who were suspected of committing civil unrest.
