The feasibility study has kicked off to analyze the Termez-Peshawar railway joint project between Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Afghanistan where the former state is in the spotlight of the work.
The 600-km railway may open new marketplaces for the countries of Central Asia to the major seaports of Pakistan. The projected cost is $5 billion.
Upon completion of the $ 5 billion transregional railway, the cargo shipment from Pakistan to Uzbekistan will take between 3-5 days instead of 35, and the cost of transportation of one standard cargo container will decrease by almost three times. At the same time, the volume of cargo transportation on this route can reach 10 million tons.
