Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared in an interview with Eurovision News that Russian President Vladimir Putin "will die soon, and then everything will end." His remark came in response to a question about what Putin fears most.

According to Zelenskyy, Putin's greatest fear is societal destabilization.
"Nobody will be able to influence this—he will influence it himself. His economy, the sanctions, and his lack of control over all his territories will all contribute to this. If our partners remain as strong as they are today and apply pressure, he will experience destabilization, and that is what he fears," Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian leader also noted that Putin fears losing power and international isolation. He expressed confidence that these fears are well-founded given Putin's age and the challenges he faces.
"I'm younger than Putin—bet on me. My prospects are better," Zelenskyy added.
Trump Criticizes Zelenskyy’s Remarks
U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Zelenskyy for his statements about Putin.
"He shouldn’t just stand there making negative remarks about Putin. Instead, he should say, ‘I want peace. I don’t want this war to continue,'" Trump remarked.
However, Zelenskyy reiterated that Putin’s death would mark an end to the ongoing conflict and that the Russian leader "fears his own society."
