Telegram founder Pavel Durov recently shared his experiences and impressions from his visit to Kyrgyzstan, posting captivating photos that highlight the beauty of the region.
"I loved the people and nature of Kyrgyzstan — a real hidden gem of Central Asia. The weather was great, and there were no mosquitoes, so we hiked and rode horses a lot in the mountains and around the Issyk-Kul lake. I noticed that Kyrgyzstan is developing very fast, adding valuable infrastructure across the country," Durov stated.
Durov's admiration for Kyrgyzstan extended beyond its scenic landscapes. He highlighted the impressive growth of Telegram in the country.
"More than half of the country’s population uses Telegram monthly, and in the last four months alone, Telegram's popularity grew by 30%. While there, we met with local telecom leaders and discussed ways to improve the experience of Kyrgyz Telegram users," he noted,
His enthusiastic message concluded with a promise to return.
"Thank you, Kyrgyzstan — we will be back soon. Your hospitality inspires me for my future trips around beautiful Central Asia."
