The International Institute of Central Asia (IICA) and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan have embarked on a collaborative venture to enhance expertise and research in foreign policy and international relations. IICA Director Javlon Vakhabov and the Diplomatic Academy’s Rector, A. Kylychev, met in Bishkek to formalize this cooperation through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Vakhabov and Kylychev discussed the mutual benefits of this partnership, emphasizing the importance of knowledge exchange and joint research efforts. They highlighted the potential for advancements in the fields of foreign policy and international relations through their collaborative endeavors.
The Diplomatic Academy, established in 2001 under the auspices of the Kyrgyzstan Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, presented an overview of its comprehensive educational programs. Initially focused on "International Relations," "Law," and "Economics," the Academy expanded its curriculum in 2017 to include "Management" and "Business Management." By 2018, the Academy had further broadened its scope to encompass "Journalism" and "Linguistics."
The Kyrgyz institution lauded Uzbekistan’s government for its commitment to extensive reforms in higher education. This includes overhauling the retraining system, modernizing higher and secondary specialized education, incorporating contemporary teaching methods and technologies, and fostering the development of science and research initiatives.
The MoU signifies a strategic partnership aimed at the exchange of experts and researchers. Both institutions are keen to develop and implement cutting-edge training methodologies for specialists in foreign policy, international relations, and law. Additionally, they plan to conduct joint research on contemporary foreign policy issues and domestic socio-economic developments in Central Asia, culminating in joint publications.
