Kazakhstan announced its readiness to support the establishment of digital governance for the Taliban and to facilitate internet connections for educational facilities in Afghanistan. This was confirmed by Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin during a meeting with Taliban officials in Kabul, which also included discussions with Turkmen representatives.
Kazakhstan plans to assist in connecting Afghan schools to the Internet, aiming to ensure widespread educational access. Deputy Prime Minister Zhumangarin highlighted Kazakhstan's preparedness to extend its experience and necessary support to enable internet-based education across Afghanistan.
The discussions in Kabul also touched upon enhancing the economic links and infrastructure development between North Asia and South Asia, particularly in reducing transit and transport costs. Details on these discussions were limited. Moreover, there was dialogue about increasing the internet bandwidth in Afghanistan from 60 gigabytes per second to 100 gigabytes per second.
Accompanying the official visit, 35 Kazakh companies presented their products and services at a trade conference in Kabul, illustrating an effort to deepen economic and technological relations between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan and explore further areas for collaboration.
