Floods ravage 84 houses in Afghanistan
Badakhshan province in Afghanistan has been struck by severe floods, causing widespread destruction to both property and agricultural land. Local reports indicate that the floods, which occurred in several parts of Shuhado and Rogistan districts on April 22, have resulted in significant financial losses for the region.
The floodwaters have engulfed 84 houses and devastated approximately 150 hectares of agricultural land. Additionally, the entire health center in the area and a portion of the Faizabad road, a crucial transportation route, have been washed away by the torrential waters.
Tragically, the disaster has claimed lives as well. Reports suggest that three small cars, carrying passengers, are missing, and two children lost their lives due to lightning strikes during the storm.
In the aftermath of the floods, affected citizens in Shuhado and Rogistan districts are in urgent need of assistance. Many are turning to aid organizations for help as they cope with the aftermath of this natural calamity.
Earlier Daryo reported that flooding in Afghanistan results in 66 fatalities, with 1235 homes affected and around 600 animals lost due to the calamity.
