Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Oybek Shakhavdinov, recently appointed to the position, met with Benedek Peri, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, to discuss potential collaborative projects aimed at promoting Uzbekistan's cultural heritage, Dunyo reports.
Joint Project Interest
During the meeting, Peri expressed significant interest in partnering with Uzbekistan to implement joint projects focused on showcasing Uzbekistan's rich cultural heritage.
Peri noted the successful experience of collaboration with Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi and Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
The Hungarian side expressed readiness to assist in organizing Uzbek language courses at the Institute of Oriental Studies, given the growing interest in the language within the country.
Prospective Areas of Cooperation
The discussion also touched upon exploring cooperation opportunities in other areas of mutual interest to both parties, indicating a commitment to fostering further collaboration.
Earlier, it was reported that the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Great Britain engaged in discussions with the leadership of Oxford University, a prestigious and longstanding educational and research institution. The negotiations focused on the establishment of academic collaboration between Oxford University and Uzbekistan's higher education institutions and scientific research institutes, with a particular emphasis on specialized training programs provided by "Wolfson College" at the British University.
