Foreign technology giants, including Meta, Apple, Google, and others, collectively paid UZS 78.2bn ($6.5mn) in taxes to Uzbekistan in the first half of 2025, according to the country's Tax Committee.

The latest figures show a 42% increase in tax payments compared to the same period in 2024, when 60 foreign companies paid UZS 48.4bn ($3.8mn).
The top ten contributors accounted for 94% of the total amount paid. Leading the list was Meta, which paid UZS 22.58bn ($1.8mn), followed closely by Apple with UZS 22.1bn ($1.7mn) and Google with UZS 19.4bn ($1.5mn).
Other major contributors included OpenAI with UZS 2.88bn ($227,219), Booking.com with UZS 1.9bn ($149,901), TikTok with UZS 1.8bn ($141,585), Netflix with UZS 896.2mn ($70,706), ACCA with UZS 797.1mn ($62,888), Zoom with UZS 786.7mn ($61,880), and Adobe with UZS 530.8mn ($41,877).
Under Uzbekistan’s regulations, foreign legal entities providing digital services—such as cloud storage, streaming platforms, online advertising, and software—are required to file quarterly tax reports and pay the applicable taxes by the 20th day of the month following each quarter.
In the first half of 2025, 14 new companies were registered while five companies were removed from the tax registry.
In January–June 2025, the number of registered foreign digital service providers operating in Uzbekistan rose to 72, up from 63 at the beginning of the year.
