Turkmenistan's Ambassador (based in Tokyo, Japan) Atadurdy Bayramov has held a number of working meetings with senior representatives of the Australian government.
According to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the diplomat met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia Tim Watts, as well as trustees in the fields of climate change, energy and education.
"The possibility of organizing mutual visits at the highest level and holding consultations between foreign policy departments was discussed."
According to the information, the meetings also discussed issues such as the efficient use of natural resources and prospects for academic exchanges and scientific research.
Bayramov recently presented his credentials to David Hurley, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, who noted the "historical significance of the appointment of the first Ambassador of Turkmenistan in the modern history" of relations between the two countries.
