Turkmenistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov attended a forum in Vienna, where "Austrian business was informed about the investment climate and business opportunities in Turkmenistan".
The Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports that representatives of 25 leading Austrian companies were invited to the round table. Austrian business circles identified sectors such as energy, transport, agriculture, digitalisation, green economy and others as promising areas of cooperation.
During the visit, meetings were also held with the leadership of the Office of the Federal President, the Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labour and Economy and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.
Companies interested in Turkmenistan include WOMA GmbH, Schoeller Bleckmann AG, Unger Stahlbau GmbH, Schrack Seconet AG, Oswelt GmbH, AME International, Landhof, Schlafhorst, Truetzschler, Uster, Strabag SE.
It was previously reported that talks were underway between Turkmenistan's Rysgal Joint Stock Commercial Bank and Raiffeisen Bank International, Austria's leading corporate and investment bank. Experts told Daryo that Turkmenistan is interested in implementing joint innovation projects for the production of mineral fertilisers, petrochemicals and gas chemicals.
