A cement plant with a capacity of 1,0mn tonnes of cement per year has been commissioned in the Koytendag district of the Lebap region of Turkmenistan, the Turkmenistan's state agency reports. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov attended the commissioning ceremony.
The products will be manufactured using local raw materials. Built by local company Türkmen enjam, the industrial giant combines the latest achievements of modern industrial production. Special attention has been paid to environmentally friendly production and compliance with all necessary standards.
"Turkmenistan has set a course for industrialisation, import substitution and ensuring the competitiveness of domestic construction products".
Turkmenistan is currently building some 200 facilities worth more than $10bn. Most of the projects are of industrial significance.
