The establishment of the Uzbekistan-France University in Tashkent was announced by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation. The initiative aims to foster academic exchange, enhance educational opportunities, and promote cultural ties between Uzbekistan and France.
Ministerial Meeting with French Ambassador
The announcement follows a meeting between Kungirotboy Sharipov, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, and Aurélia Bouchez, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Uzbekistan, on March 11. During the meeting, discussions centered on the collaborative efforts in higher education, professional education, science, and innovation, with a focus on strengthening mutual relations between the two countries.
Key agenda items included the establishment of the Uzbekistan-France University in Tashkent, slated to commence preparatory courses from September of this year. Deliberations also encompassed developing and approving curricula, educational programs, and recruiting professors and teachers for the university.
Enhancing Educational Exchange and Language Programs
Additionally, the meeting addressed plans for facilitating teacher exchanges between professional educational institutions in France and Uzbekistan, as well as enhancing French language instruction programs for students. Strategies to improve the qualifications of French language teachers were also discussed, reflecting a commitment to promoting multilingualism and intercultural understanding.
Preparations for the forthcoming Uzbek-French Rectors' Forum, scheduled to take place in Tashkent in October of this year, were also on the meeting agenda. The forum is expected to serve as a platform for academic leaders from both countries to exchange insights, share best practices, and explore opportunities for collaborative initiatives in higher education.
Earlier, it was reported that the "El-Yurt Umidi" Foundation is embarking on collaborative efforts with higher education institutions in Saxony, Germany.
