Fariddin Nasriyev has been appointed as the extraordinary and autonomous ambassador of Uzbekistan to Iran. The new ambassador recently presented his credentials to the Iranian president, Ebrahim Raisi.
A New Era in Bilateral Relations
During the official ceremony, President Raisi noted that bilateral relations between Iran and Uzbekistan have expanded in recent years. These developments span various fields, including politics, inter-parliamentary relations, trade and economy, investment, innovation, transport, energy, water and agriculture, and cultural and humanitarian spheres. The Iranian president expressed satisfaction with the consistent development and elevation of these relations.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Iran have demonstrated political will and made effective efforts, including high-level negotiations, to further develop bilateral relations. President Raisi expressed confidence in Ambassador Nasriyev’s ability to contribute significantly to the further improvement of relations between the two countries and peoples.
About Fariddin Nasriyev
Before his appointment as ambassador, Fariddin Nasriyev headed the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan from 2018 to 2023. He is fluent in English, French, Russian, and Persian. Nasriyev has replaced Bahadir Abdullayev, who served as ambassador in Tehran from 2015 to 2023.
