Fariddin Nasriev, Uzbekistan's new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Iran, has arrived in Tehran on December 21, Dunyo News Agency reported.
At 42, Nasriev brings extensive diplomatic experience, having led the Consulate General in Kazan, Russia, from 2018 to 2023. A graduate of the Tashkent Financial Institute and the Tashkent State Law Institute, Nasriev embarked on his career in the banking system in 1999 before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2003.
Throughout his diplomatic journey, Nasriev has served in various capacities, including diplomatic missions in Belgium and NATO. His tenure in the Consular and Legal Department saw him rise from the position of 3rd Secretary to Deputy Director. Nasriev is multilingual, fluent in English, French, Russian, and Farsi.
Nasriev takes over from Bakhodir Abdullayev, who served as Uzbekistan's ambassador to Tehran from 2015 to 2023.
Earlier Daryo reported that the Iranian government has officially approved the removal of visa requirements for citizens of 33 countries, and among the beneficiaries of this decision are Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus, and the Russian Federation.
