In a stride towards fostering global academic collaboration, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University proudly announces the acquisition of 40 grants under the Erasmus+ "International Credit Mobility program" for the upcoming 2023/24 academic year, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan reported.
The university enriches academic experiences for students and fosters professional development opportunities for teachers through collaborations with esteemed European institutions.
Under the Erasmus+ program, universities across Europe collaborate to facilitate academic mobility, providing opportunities for students to study at prestigious European institutions and for teachers to partake in advanced training courses.
The Deputy Dean for Scientific-Innovative Activity and International Relations at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Jakubayeva Saltanat Toleuovna, highlighted the flexibility of the program, wherein European universities have the autonomy to select their counterparts for the credit mobility initiative.
"Students participating in the international credit mobility program can pursue studies at European universities for a semester, while teachers have the chance to undergo specialized training and deliver courses in their field at European universities for a duration of 5-14 days. The selection process was highly competitive, ensuring that the best students and teachers were chosen for this prestigious opportunity," stated Jakubayeva.
The 40 projects funded under the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility will span from 2024 to 2027, covering a wide range of specialties defined by the host university. The recipients of these grants will have the privilege of studying and teaching at esteemed universities in Germany, Spain, France, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Turkey, and more.
This initiative not only enhances academic knowledge but also provides students and teachers with invaluable experiences and skills. The exposure gained through these foreign programs contributes significantly to the development of academic mobility, fosters cultural ties, and elevates the competitiveness of future specialists in the job market.
Crucially, all expenses related to the training of students and teachers, including tuition and living costs, are generously financed by the European Union. This financial support ensures that participants can fully immerse themselves in the academic and cultural exchange, fostering a spirit of global collaboration and mutual understanding.
