Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov took to Facebook to issue a call for putting an end to fraudulent practices targeting investors and eliminating bureaucratic hurdles within state agencies, Knews reports.
Expressing his delight at the increasing number of foreign investors choosing Kyrgyzstan, President Japarov emphasized the pivotal role foreign investments play in the country's development.
The President acknowledged instances where some investors fell victim to deception by unscrupulous private entrepreneurs, prompting legal action to rectify the situation and ensure restitution. President Japarov stressed that while law enforcement agencies are committed to apprehending wrongdoers and recovering funds for investors, such incidents impose an unwarranted burden on them and tarnish the nation's reputation.
Using a Kyrgyz saying to emphasize the consequences of dishonest actions, President Japarov declared, "Stop the scam my friends!" He urged a collective effort to curb fraudulent practices and maintain the country's standing as a trustworthy destination for foreign investments.
President Japarov called for enhanced collaboration between investors and key government entities, including the Ministry of Economy and Trade, the Investment Support Agency, as well as regional, district, and rural governmental offices. Emphasizing the need for streamlined processes, the President urged heads of state agencies to foster close cooperation with investors, emphasizing, "There should be no bureaucracy!"
In a bid to incentivize proactive engagement and efficient service delivery, President Japarov announced that the evaluation of each regional authority would be based on the number and volume of investors attracted to their respective areas.
