In a comprehensive speech delivered at the regular meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in St. Petersburg on December 25, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, highlighted significant achievements and outlined key areas for further cooperation within the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC), his press service reports.
Macroeconomic Stability and Growth:
- Emphasized joint efforts leading to macroeconomic stability and financial system resilience.
- Stated that the Council's economy successfully adapted to new conditions and is on a sustainable growth trajectory.
Integration and Cooperation:
- Despite global challenges, highlighted increased integration in various areas of Council activities.
- Underlined successful efforts in strengthening food security and developing production potential.
Trade and Economic Cooperation:
- Noted the intensification of cooperation among SEEC member states' manufacturers, with the share of cooperation goods in mutual trade reaching 38% in 2022.
- Highlighted the gradual increase in the share of national currencies in mutual trade.
E-commerce Development:
- Pointed out active development in e-commerce, with the total volume reaching about $80bn in 2022.
- Acknowledged variations in the share of e-commerce in total retail volume among member states.
Challenges and Future Cooperation:
- Acknowledged less optimistic global economic forecasts and emphasized the need for continuous collaboration to deepen integration.
- Urged the speedy preparation and adoption of a strategic document for the long-term development of the Council.
Enhancing Freedom of Movement:
- Emphasized the importance of ensuring the fundamental principles of the SEEC, particularly freedom of movement of goods, labor, services, and capital.
- Called for mechanisms to interpret and implement the principle of freedom of movement of goods with clarity.
Digitalization and Fiscal Reforms:
- Highlighted fiscal reforms in the Kyrgyz Republic, including the digitalization of fiscal procedures.
- Called for the exchange of experience and technologies among member states to level the digital gap.
Transport Infrastructure Development:

- Proposed joint measures to develop transport infrastructure and logistics within the Council.
Labor Market Development:
