The National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan has thrown its weight behind 12 projects with a combined value of $2.3bn, as announced by Zhibek Abdullayeva, the Deputy Director of NAI, during a press conference on December 28, 24.kg reports.
Among the noteworthy projects supported by NAI are the construction of a multifunctional trade and logistics center in the Chuy region, multifunctional complexes in both Bishkek and the Chuy region, initiatives aimed at modernizing the Junda oil refinery, and the Kyrgyz Petroleum Company plant. Additionally, the agency is actively involved in backing the construction of solar stations, small hydroelectric power stations, and a logistics park.
During her address, Zhibek Abdullayeva highlighted the agency's commitment to supporting projects with customs benefits, revealing that since 2018, a total of 126 projects have been included in the register. Notably, 16 new projects have been added in 2023, while 33 projects have been removed from the list. As a result, there are currently 93 projects registered with the National Investment Agency, aligning with the priority activities of various economic sectors.
Earlier, Daryo reported that the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, previously reported to be frozen, is now set to commence in 2024. This announcement was made by Zhalyn Jeenaliyev, the Deputy Director of the Kyrgyz National Investment Agency.
