Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Poland, Amirsaid Azamkhozhaev, conducted a business trip to Poland's Lublin Voivodeship, focusing on fostering bilateral cooperation. The ambassador engaged in negotiations with regional leadership, business representatives, and higher education officials during the visit, Dunyo News Agency reported.
Key discussions took place with Yaroslav Stawiarski, the marshal (mayor) of Lublin Voivodeship, where a comprehensive presentation highlighted Uzbekistan's extensive reforms, the current state and future prospects of Uzbekistan-Poland cooperation, and the economic, investment, and tourism potential of Uzbekistan under the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy.
The dialogue centered on developing a draft agreement for interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan's Navoi region and Lublin Voivodeship. The proposed areas of collaboration included energy, transport, communication, agriculture, food, chemical industry, tourism, migration, sports, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Poland recognized Uzbekistan's rapid development in the Central Asian region and commended the ongoing reforms. Marshal Yaroslav Stawiarski extended an invitation to the delegation from the administration of the Navoi region to visit Poland, reciprocated by the announcement of Lublin Voivodeship's readiness to visit Uzbekistan in May 2024.
Mutual visits aim to foster cooperation in exhibitions, fairs, and the establishment of a joint business forum. Agreements were reached during discussions with Deputy Marshal Zbigniew Wojciechowski, President of the Lublin Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dariush Edlina, and leaders of companies in medical equipment, chemical industry, and agriculture.
In a meeting with Marek Opialek, the rector of the Lublin Academy of Economy and Innovation, plans were discussed for organizing a delegation's trip to Navoi. The agreement included opening a branch of the academy in Navoi and facilitating teacher and student exchanges through the "Erasmus+" project of the European Union.
