Bahrom Boboyev, the Uzbek ambassador concluding his mission in Poland, has granted an interview to the Eurogospodarka publication. Since 2019, he has been serving as Uzbekistan's exceptional and plenipotentiary ambassador in Poland.
In the course of the conversation, the diplomat highlighted key facets of the bilateral collaboration between Uzbekistan and Poland. These include trade, investment and financial partnerships, the transfer of advanced technologies, cooperation in fields like science, technology, agriculture, education, ecology, and cultural exchanges, as well as mutual efforts to enhance regional security.
"Poland is one of Uzbekistan's prominent economic partners. Despite certain logistical challenges, the trade volume between our countries reached a record $352mn in 2022, marking an increase of $131.1mn in Uzbek exports to Poland. Poland has been a leading importer of Uzbek products among European Union member states for the past two years," emphasized Boboyev.
In the contemporary Uzbek market, companies such as Adamed Group (healthcare), Codepharm (pharmaceuticals), Dressta Liugong (heavy construction machinery), Lenartt (transport/logistics), LUG Light Factory (energy), and Alliance Capital (construction chemicals) are actively conducting business operations. Moreover, in the near future, Transforwarding International (transport/logistics), Pronar (agricultural machinery), Seneka Poland (fishery), and KGHM (copper production and recycling) are contemplating introducing their investments into the country.
Notably, during the first nine months of 2023, more than 9,000 Polish citizens visited Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan Airways and LOT Polish Airlines are set to launch direct flights between Warsaw and Tashkent starting on February 23, 2023, further strengthening the ties between the two nations.
