The demand for Uzbek textile products has experienced a notable surge in Poland, with approximately half of the textile products exported to European Union (EU) countries now originating from this Central European nation. This revelation surfaced during the annual international exhibition, Fast Textile 2023, hosted in Warsaw, where representatives from the Uztekstilprom association and Uzbek textile enterprises actively participated.
At the event, which attracted over six hundred companies from 45 countries, Uzbekistan showcased its textile products on a national stand spanning 400 square meters under the banner "Made in Uzbekistan." Preliminary estimates indicate that Uzbek textile companies secured export contracts exceeding $20mn during the exhibition.
Beyond the exhibition, the Uzbek delegation engaged in a business forum hosted at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Warsaw and participated in the inauguration of a Uzbek textile store in the city of Lodz.
The enduring collaboration between Poland and Uzbekistan in the textile industry was underscored, reflecting a history of mutual cooperation. This collaboration involves the supply of raw materials from Uzbekistan to Poland, where they are utilized in the production of diverse textile goods.
Additionally, Polish companies are actively investing in Uzbekistan's textile industry, contributing to the modernization of production processes and enhancing overall efficiency. Both nations actively participate in various exhibitions, conferences, and events dedicated to advancing the textile industry.
