Turkmenistan has acceded to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conventions on early notification and assistance in nuclear emergencies.This was announced by IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi on social network X.
Resident Representative of Turkmenistan to the IAEA, Hemra Amannazarov, deposits Turkmenistan’s Instrument of Accession to conventions during his official visit to the Agency's headquarters in Vienna, Austria.
Turkmenistan joined the IAEA at the beginning of 2016. This intergovernmental organisation within the UN system aims to develop cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
