Iran plans to hold talks with Turkmen business partners in Ashgabat, the Iranian embassy reports. The delegations of the two countries will meet on the sidelines of a special exhibition of Iranian products to be held in the Turkmen capital from 17 to 19 November.
Around 100 Iranian companies from the construction, engineering, agriculture and medical sectors are expected to take part in the event. "An economic conference and business meeting will be held on 18 November".
The two countries are neighbours on the Caspian Sea and share a 1,148km land border.
Experts told Daryo that Iran and Turkmenistan have jointly implemented a number of major projects. In addition to cross-border gas pipelines and power lines, they have jointly built the Dostluk (Friendship) dam and the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran transnational railway.
