The Republic of Kazakhstan's Foreign Affairs Minister, Murat Nurtleu, articulated the government's stance on the Middle East situation, Nur.kz reports.
Speaking at a joint summit of the League of Arab States (ADL) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Riyadh, the minister emphasized the paramount need for a peaceful and secure future for the Palestinian people, highlighting the imperative of the "Two states for two peoples" formula, in alignment with UN resolutions.
Nurtleu underlined Kazakhstan's unwavering support for the Palestinians' legal rights regarding self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state acknowledged internationally. He emphasized Kazakhstan's solidarity with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, urging an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
Expressing worry about over 150 citizens from Kazakhstan stranded in the Gaza Strip due to their inability to cross the Rafah checkpoint, the minister called upon Egypt and concerned stakeholders to permit the evacuation of Kazakh citizens, their families, and other foreigners. He affirmed the government's preparedness to promptly evacuate these citizens to Kazakhstan once passage through Rafah is granted.
