On November 11, President Sadyr Japarov, during his visit to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, participated in the 8th Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. In his address, the Head of State highlighted the significance of this Summit, noting its urgency due to the dire events unfolding in Palestine.
He expressed solidarity on behalf of the Kyrgyz people towards the families who have tragically lost their loved ones in this conflict. Japarov extended support to the Palestinian citizens, acknowledging their substantial losses and suffering due to the escalated violence over the past month.
Addressing the catastrophic nature of the situation, he emphasized that every life lost is a tremendous tragedy. The Kyrgyz Republic stands prepared to offer humanitarian aid to alleviate the distress of civilians in the Gaza Strip: "In turn, the Kyrgyz Republic is ready to provide humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of civilians in the Gaza Strip. We believe that it is our common responsibility to support our Palestinian brothers in ending external aggression and the loss of innocent lives, and to provide humanitarian assistance."
The intensified conflict in the Gaza Strip has led to extensive loss of life and unbearable suffering for the Palestinian people, culminating in an unparalleled humanitarian crisis. He condemned the deaths of innocent civilians, including women and infants, as unacceptable and urged international condemnation of these actions.
Highlighting Kyrgyzstan’s recognition of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to independence and the establishment of a sovereign state, he urged the implementation of relevant United Nations Security Council and General Assembly resolutions as the optimal solution aligned with the interests of the Palestinians.
In this context, Kyrgyzstan urged the Security Council and the UN General Assembly to take resolute measures on behalf of the international community to end the violence and resolve the security crisis in the Gaza Strip.
The President stressed the necessity for the Islamic Ummah to consolidate its position against the aggression and intensify efforts to engage both conflicting parties in negotiations. Upholding international humanitarian laws and respecting the lives of their citizens are key expectations from parties involved in the conflict.
Japarov underlined that: "It is essential that parties to conflict prioritize the protection of the lives of their citizens and respect the universal rules of international humanitarian law as enshrined in the core documents of the United Nations. The principles of justice, equality and respect for human rights must guide our actions in seeking to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."
He reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to support all endeavors focused on achieving a fair and sustainable peace in the Middle East, aiming to establish an environment where parties to the conflict can coexist in peace and security, promoting justice and prosperity.
