Iran and Tajikistan are emphasizing their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas such as water management, agriculture, and modern irrigation systems.
This commitment was reiterated during a meeting on the sidelines of the 25th Congress of the International Commission on Irrigation & Drainage (ICID) on November 4. Safdar Niyazi Shahraki, Iran's Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Water and Soil Affairs, highlighted the collaborative efforts of both nations in expanding agricultural cooperation.
Furthermore, the International Drainage Workshop set to take place in Tajikistan next year is expected to further enhance their partnership in the agriculture sector.
The meeting also led to an agreement to organize tutorial workshops aimed at sharing information and technical expertise across various fields. Cooperation extends to the production and supply of irrigation equipment, machinery, and the manufacturing of low-consumption irrigation systems.
The 25th Congress of the International Commission on Irrigation & Drainage (ICID) was successfully concluded in Visakhapatnam, India. ICID, established in 1950, is a leading international non-governmental organization focused on irrigation and drainage.
