In a significant move to strengthen the nation's border security and protect remote regions, President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic inaugurated a new border post known as "Chaar-Kuduk" on October 28. This strategically important post is situated in the Karkyra area of the Tyup district, a remote and challenging section of the country's border.
Construction of the Chaar-Kuduk border post commenced in September 2023 and has been completed with all the necessary facilities and infrastructure to support the living conditions and operational needs of the border guards. The border post is strategically positioned at an altitude of 2280 meters above sea level, and it falls under the jurisdiction of the Karkyra border service department.
The primary mission of the newly established border unit is to safeguard a remote and rugged stretch of the nation's border, ensuring the protection of Kyrgyzstan's territorial integrity. This border post will play a crucial role in preventing unauthorized crossings and reinforcing national security.
However, the responsibilities of the border guards stationed at Chaar-Kuduk go beyond border protection. They will also be responsible for monitoring foreign and domestic tourists who travel through this region and ensuring the maintenance of the border and state border regulations at the entrance to key pastures, including Uch-Suu, Kichi-Chon-Zhynalach, and Turuk.
During the inauguration, President Japarov emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline and military etiquette among the border guards. He urged them to be vigilant, dedicated, and diligent in carrying out their assigned duties, recognizing the critical role they play in safeguarding the nation's interests.
