President Sadyr Japarov surveys progress on 400-student sports school and 100-bed hospital in Jalal-Abad region

President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, embarked on a working trip to the Jalal-Abad region, where he closely examined the ongoing construction of several significant social facilities in the city of Jalal-Abad.

Among the sites inspected by the head of state was the regional school of the Olympic reserve, currently undergoing an extensive overhaul funded by the republican budget. The facility is in the final stages of preparation for its reopening.

Formerly a professional lyceum since 1992, the school is now being transformed to accommodate 400 students. It will provide specialized education and training in seven different sports, including Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling for both men and women, judo, boxing, track and field, and weightlifting. Each discipline will have dedicated training rooms and state-of-the-art facilities. Following these major renovations, the school will have the capacity to host large-scale international competitions and training camps.

President Japarov was informed that these sports were selected due to their active development in the Kyrgyz Republic and their significant appeal to young boys and girls. Furthermore, there is a proposal to establish an Olympic village for 400 athletes based on the school's premises.

Moving on, the president also assessed the progress of construction for a new three-story building at the regional hospital, which will have the capacity to house 100 beds. This additional structure will accommodate departments specializing in neurology, therapy, and nephrology. Currently, construction at the site is 80% complete.

In the Suzak region, President Japarov paid a visit to the milk processing plant operated by Umut & Co company, where he was briefed on the ongoing activities and future production plans. The processing plant commenced operations in June 2023 and has quickly become a vital part of the region's agricultural landscape. Presently, the facility processes an impressive 80-100 tons of milk every day, producing a range of dairy products including cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, and butter.

President Sadyr Japarov underscored the pivotal role played by such enterprises in ensuring the country's food security. He assured that the government would continue its unwavering support for the establishment and operation of such factories to secure a sustainable and prosperous future for the nation.
