On October 24, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan embarked on a visit to the Kashkadarya region, a testament to his continued commitment to grassroots development and improving the lives of the people. President Mirziyoyev's visits to various regions across the country have consistently focused on raising living standards, industrializing rural districts, generating employment, and enhancing social conditions.
The President's latest visit to Kashkadarya showcased these priorities in action, beginning with a tour of the "Sulton tex group" cluster, a textile enterprise that was established last year with an investment of $8,200,000. This state-of-the-art facility boasts modern technology and equipment, enabling an annual production capacity of 5 mn pieces of sewing and knitting products.
Notably, the cluster's commitment to the "new product - new country" principle has allowed them to export high-quality goods to countries such as the United States of America, Canada, Poland, Singapore, and Russia, yielding substantial income and high work productivity. Approximately 3,000 individuals are employed across the entire cotton cultivation and production chain within the cluster.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev personally inspected the operations at the textile enterprise and emphasized the significance of such projects in boosting regional economies and providing employment opportunities for the local population. He also pointed out that there is untapped potential in this sector.
"Creating decent living conditions for the population, especially people in rural areas should be the basis of our reforms," President Mirziyoyev underscored.
Region is well-known for its cotton production, yet its processing into finished products remains limited. Initiatives such as weaving and dyeing could potentially create an additional 60,000 jobs in the region. To address this, the "20,000 entrepreneurs - 500,000 qualified specialists" program is being implemented at the "Sulton Staylz" enterprise.
This program features the establishment of a practical monocenter where unemployed individuals are trained in textile-related trades. The training process is divided into two stages: first, women are taught the technology and equipment operation and labor safety. In the subsequent stage, they gain practical experience and skills directly on the factory floor.
Additionally, President Mirziyoyev was presented with tourism development projects for Shahrisabz, Kitab, and Qamashi districts. He instructed officials to focus on improving the infrastructure in these villages, integrating them into tourist routes, and expanding income sources for the local population.
