The meeting of the Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation will be held in Ashgabat on 17-18 November.
Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash discussed the issue over the phone with Turkmenistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
"The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in various fields, including energy, electricity, water, transport, road construction, technical and engineering services."
Iran and Turkmenistan are neighbours on the Caspian Sea and share a 1,148km of common land border.
A number of major projects have been implemented in recent years. In addition to the cross-border gas pipelines, the Dostluk (Friendship) dam and the transit railway from Kazakhstan.
Tehran and Ashgabat are preparing a strategic document on cooperation for the next 20 years.
