A new customs regime will be implemented to facilitate the import and export of branded products, as announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during an open dialogue with entrepreneurs on August 18. The President emphasized the need to attract prestigious foreign brands to boost exports to the country.
Some 50 of the world's most recognized brands have expressed interest in working with local entrepreneurs, with negotiations already taking place with brands from Spain, Türkiye, Poland, and Germany. These brands are prepared to place orders worth $3bn at Uzbekistan's enterprises.
International standards and environmental requirements are being introduced into production. Local specialists are now being trained to meet the requirements of world brands while also providing decent working conditions for employees in local industries.
A favorable customs regime will be implemented for importing and exporting branded products. Additionally, enterprises that attract large brands will receive a grant of UZS 50mn (nearly $4,150.75).
Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed allocating a grant to Namangan-based Fazman Textile, which attracted German company Diesel (Hugo Boss) and Andijan-based Sino International to produce Nike-branded shoes.
