China-based 'Sino International Trading' has launched the production of Nike brand shoes in Uzbekistan's Andijan region under the authorization of Nike.
As per the report, the global sourcing group has established a production line that meets international quality standards and company requirements and is currently producing 6,000 pairs of sneakers per day, with plans to double production to 3mn pairs annually by year-end.
The company also has the right to produce all models of Nike's sports shoes and has received an official barcode from Nike. Its products are supplied to Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, with plans to export to Pakistan and European markets.
Besides, agreements have been made between the association and Nike and Adidas, with plans to open 15 new export markets for shoes from Uzbekistan in the coming years.
Earlier, Daryo reported the administration of the Tashkent region announced in late July that the city of Yangiyul will start manufacturing clothing for international brands ZARA and Columbia.
