Uzbekistan will establish a Telecommunications Regulatory Agency, the Ministry of Justice reported.

The move follows a presidential decree on measures to improve the regulatory system in the telecommunications sector.
The new agency will monitor the quality of services provided by operators and service providers at least once a month, following an approved inspection plan.
It will operate independently in both financial and structural matters and will make decisions autonomously within its mandate. The agency will report its activities to the Cabinet of Ministers.
This initiative comes shortly after plans were announced to create a Forest Agency in Uzbekistan, signaling the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen sectoral oversight.
