King Abdullah II ibn al-Hussein of Jordan, who is on a state visit to Uzbekistan, visited an exhibition of export-oriented products in Samarkand together with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on August 26.

According to the presidential press service, the exhibition at the Congress Center showcased a wide range of high-quality goods produced in Uzbekistan that meet international standards for foreign markets.

The Jordanian monarch was provided with detailed information about production capacities, technological stages, and modern equipment used across industries such as mining, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, textiles, jewelry, agriculture, and information technology.

The exposition featured samples of finished industrial products with high added value, including medicines, medical equipment, mineral fertilizers, textiles, knitwear, jewelry, handicrafts, and IT solutions.

King Abdullah II highly appreciated Uzbekistan’s industrial potential and product quality. The two leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between leading enterprises, promoting experience exchange, and facilitating technology transfer.

The King of Jordan arrived in Uzbekistan on August 25 at the invitation of President Mirziyoyev for his first state visit. He was welcomed by the head of state at Samarkand International Airport. Later that day, the leaders visited historical monuments of Samarkand, including the Amir Temur Mausoleum, the Mirzo Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillakori madrasas, and the Registan complex. The monarch also toured the "Immortal City" historical and ethnographic complex at the Samarkand International Tourism Center.

On August 26, a formal welcoming ceremony for King Abdullah II was held in the square in front of the Congress Center. The main events of the Uzbekistan–Jordan summit, including high-level negotiations on political, trade, economic, and investment cooperation, are scheduled to take place today.
