In January-July 2023, the volume of oil transit from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan through terminals of Azerbaijan increased to 2.9mn metric tonnes from 2.6mn tonnes a year earlier, the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan reports.
Transportation was carried out through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline via Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
Previously it was reported that the transport of Turkmen oil is carried out by international trader Vitol, which is a partner of Turkmen company Napeco.
Vitol takes raw materials from Dragon Oil (UAE) and Eni (Italy), which operate in Turkmenistan under a production sharing agreement with state-owned Turkmenneft.
