A regrettable incident occurred in the city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where a 32-year-old woman was trapped in an elevator while on duty and subsequently passed away.
Employers must immediately inform the regional labor authority of any accidents involving workers or manufacturing operations, as mandated by regulations released on June 6th, 1997 by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The Labor Inspectorate is responsible for investigating group accidents, regardless of the severity level, based on the injury sustained by the employee.
In this instance, it has been decided that company representatives will participate in the inspection process.
The company reported an accident involving a female letter carrier at the 7th communication department located at 74 Parkent Street, Yashnabad district, Tashkent branch of Uzbekistan Post. Members of the commission were also present to investigate the incident.
The Tashkent City Poverty Alleviation and Employment General Directorate's Labor Inspection has initiated a special investigation into this incident.
At 2:50 p.m. on July 24, the woman got into the elevator of the apartment building and never came back.
On July 26, the woman's close relatives reported her missing to the Internal Affairs Office, and on July 27, her body was found in the elevator.

The residents informed the media that the elevator had been out of order for several days and malfunctioned several times. This was also confirmed by video reports from media representatives, including Daryo, who conducted an unbiased investigation at the incident scene.
According to the State Committee for Industrial Safety, during the inspection on July 28, the safety devices of the elevator were checked and confirmed to be in good working order by the experts on site.
An investigation has been launched under Article 186 of the Criminal Code regarding providing unsafe goods or services. The General Prosecutor's Office will conduct a thorough investigation and make a legal decision based on the evidence found.
