Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry has announced an upcoming business forum in Astana that will see over 150 entrepreneurs from Afghanistan in attendance.
The Kazakh-Afghan business forum will focus on various sectors of the economy, including second-level banks in Afghanistan.
Discussions during the visit will involve the Ministry of Trade and Integration, Kazakeksport, second-level banks, and logistics companies of Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan's Deputy Foreign Minister Kanat Tumysh has confirmed that no restrictive measures will be applied to the guests, as they are not on any sanctions lists.
Besides, an exhibition showcasing Afghan goods will be held during the forum.
Earlier, Daryo reported that the current trade between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan is nearing the $1bn mark. Kazakhstan's Ministry of Trade aims to triple this amount in the future.
Afghanistan is a significant purchaser of Kazakhstan's flour exports, with grain and sunflower oil exports to the country also increasing in recent years. Kazakhstan views Afghanistan as both a valuable trading partner and a crucial transit country.
