Türkiye and Kenya have recently signed a Defense Industry Cooperation Agreement to strengthen bilateral relations in the defense sector. The document was signed during the 16th International Defense Industry Fair, IDEF’23, in Istanbul, media reports.
The head of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), Haluk Görgün, and Kenya’s Defense Minister, Aden Duale, inked the agreements emphasizing their mutual commitment to collaborate on various aspects of defense and security.
The document encompasses the direct supply, development, production, and delivery of various defense industry products and services that are required by the security organizations of both nations. Additionally, it includes provisions for sales, maintenance, modernization, and technology transfer of systems and platforms in the inventory.
During the IDEF, Türkiye also signed a military-financial cooperation agreement with Tajikistan.
The National Defense Minister, Yaşar Güler, and his Tajikistan counterpart, Sherali Mirzo, signed the agreement to strengthen security and stability in the Central Asian region by cooperating in defense issues and sharing experiences in border protection and counter-terrorism.
The IDEF exhibition showcases modern defense technologies and samples, highlighting the latest developments in military equipment for export to the world arms market.
