Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov announced that all relevant Russian services and agencies are prepared for possible new attacks following the explosion on the Crimean Bridge, Meduza has reported.
"Of course, all relevant services, departments, everyone is working. We are aware of the cunning nature of the Kiev regime. Today, the Kiev regime killed a young family on the Crimean Bridge, the parents of a girl, and the girl herself was injured. This needs to be discussed in a way that everyone knows; it's all the doing of the Kiev regime. We are all working and focusing on ensuring that such tragedies do not recur," Peskov said during a press briefing.
According to Peskov, the response to the explosion on the Crimean Bridge will be among the objectives of the "special military operation."
He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting on the evening of July 17 to discuss the situation on the Crimean Bridge. During the meeting, President Putin will remotely listen to the report of Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin on the organization of restoration work on the bridge.
The Kremlin spokesperson also stated that additional security measures are constantly being taken in Russia.
"We know the reasons behind this act of terror and those responsible for it. This will require even more restraint, additional measures, and additional work from us," Peskov said.
After the explosion on the Crimean Bridge, Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev delivered a speech stating that "terrorists... understand only the language of power, only personal and utterly inhumane methods." Medvedev called for "blowing up" the terrorists and "their relatives' homes."
During the night of July 17, an explosion occurred on the Crimean Bridge. Russian officials claim that Ukrainian surface drones attacked the bridge, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, with a 14-year-old boy sustaining injuries. The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a case under the article "Terrorist Act," with Ukrainian security services suspected of organizing the explosion. Ukrainian media sources allege the involvement of the Ukrainian Security Service and the Ukrainian Navy. The Ukrainian government has stated that it will provide detailed information about the explosion "after Ukraine's victory in the war."
