Poachers who shot two endangered goitered gazelles in the Navbahor District of the Navoi Region were apprehended on July 9, according to the press service of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
The bodies of the animals (a mother and her cub) were discovered in the trunk of a Niva car owned by K.S. during an environmental raid. It was found that he and another resident from the Narpa District of the Samarkand Region, K.F., had illegally hunted the goitered gazelles using a hunting rifle. The estimated damage caused amounts to nearly $2850.
The vehicle has been impounded, and the hunting rifle has been sent for storage at the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Navoi Region.
The impounding of the vehicle and the storage of the hunting rifle indicate the seriousness with which the authorities are approaching this case. The collection of necessary documents for transfer to the prosecutor's office signifies a commitment to pursuing legal action against the perpetrators and holding them accountable for their actions.
